in the current issue of the utne reader, there's an interview with my imaginary girlfriend, amy sedaris. interestingly, it's all about her imaginary boyfriend, ricky. you should read it. because she's funny.
in other sedaris-family news: david has a full itinerary set for a spring u.s. speaking tour. (he's out and about this month, too, but most shows are sold out.) the dates are here. i never thought i'd wish i lived in north carolina, but seeing david and sarah vowell do a reading together would be pretty kickass.
also: this is probably old news to most of you, since it appeared nearly simultaneously on pitchfork and on the front page of the new york times (registration req'd), but it's interesting nonetheless. it seems the postal service (the band) has reached a settlement with the postal service (the mail carriers) to keep their moniker. in exchange for the free pass on trademark violations, the postal service (the band) will play a gig at the postmasters' convention for the postal service (the mail carriers). seriously. and their cd will be sold on the postal service's (the mail carriers') web site. and depending on whose account you read of these dealings, the postal service (the mail carriers) may start using songs by the postal service (the band) in its commericals. too funny.
damn. i just noticed david sedaris is at the crest RIGHT NOW. not that i could have gone anyway...
